Ashleigh Tobin, MA, LPC

Pronouns: She/Her & They/Them

I have come to learn that I will never be good at being anyone other than myself. This idea has deeply informed my approach to empowering my clients. While there are all sorts of technical terms I could use to describe my theoretical orientation – relational, psychodynamic, interpersonal – my aim is to get to know your unique story and walk alongside you as we work toward your goals.

Training & Experience

I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. After 5+ years of serving as a Program Director for youth camps and retreats, I moved to Grand Rapids to pursue my Master's. I completed one year of supervised internship experience counseling teens and young adults. After earning my LLPC, I served as an independently contracted therapist – expanding my client base and gaining experience working with clients from a variety of life stages and backgrounds. I founded Tobin Counseling in 2017 and am fully licensed in the state of Michigan. I have a particular interest in working with clients across the gender and sexuality spectrums and am committed to continual growth, education, and self-care as I do this work.
